From the author of the National Book Award-winning novel The Three Junes comes this richly nuanced tale about the intertwined lives of two sisters. Alternating between the two women’s voices, I See You Everywhere unfolds across 25 years, offering a candid double portrait that reveals the very nature of sisterhood. You are cordially invited to come listen to Judith Nies speak about her memoir, The Girl I Left Behind: A Narrative History of the Sixties, on Wednesday, October 15th at 6:30 pm here at the store. Ms. Nies, a Swampscott native who now resides in Cambridge, will be signing copies of her book after the discussion.
A heartfelt memoir as well as a piercing social commentary, The Girl I Left Behind recounts one courageous woman’s journey towards independence, and evaluates the outcome of the 1960’s feminist movement on the women who made it happen — and the daughters born in their wake.
